EQ3′s Catalogue
October 9, 2008
During the last class, we all went out to the EQ3 factory. The furniture they showed us peeked my interests so I kept the idea of furniture design in the back of my head. Later the next week, a competition was announced for designing a piece of furniture for their next theme, the Canadian Theme. I grabbed an EQ3 catalogue and began flipping through the pages. Here are some of the items that stood out for me.

This is the Platform Bed. The reasons I am drawn to this is that the edges are very crisp and the night table on the side is small but serves it’s purpose. The night table is able to be moved along the side of the bed to where ever it is needed.

I also like the black SLY Duvet Set. People that know me know that my favourite colours are black and silver, so it is not surprising that I am drawn to this set.

Lastly, the BOSSA Dining Table stood out as a very masculine and sheek table. I like this table because of the hard edges as well as the small groove cut into the center.
After closely examining these items, I found myself analysing different features I would have liked to seen. For instance, I would have liked the top of the night table to be made of glass rather than the simple black wood. I’d also change the center of the BOSSA Dining Table to glass as well. If you were to place a soft light under the table it would create a very calm and relaxing atmosphere as you enjoy your supper with your family.
